Dreams of Weddings
I once read that you eat first with your eyes. No wonder the best feasts are at weddings. Start with the decorations, the fancy clothes, the beautiful locations. I say you then eat with your nose. The various perfumes, the scent of the flowers, the heady smell of champagne and sugar.
Then, finally! You eat with your mouth. Cake and other baked goods are always served at weddings, symbolizing the community’s wish that the newlyweds enjoy the sweetness of life through all their lives together.
Famous costume designer Betsy Whitaker once said, “Fashion should bring us together, not shove us apart.” I think food brings us together, too.
